Recent Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools and Gahanna Lincoln High School graduate, Alexis (Lexi) Lieb, was recently named to the Educators Rising cohort of national student leaders that will lead the organization through the 2024-25 school year.

Lieb, who completed the Teaching Professions satellite program housed at Gahanna Lincoln High School, was one of four students from across the country to be named to the upcoming EdRising student officer team. New officers will serve a one-year term and will be responsible for promoting the organization’s mission and vision in cultivating the new generation of educators.

Prior to graduating, Lieb was heavily involved in EdRising having served as an Ohio State Officer and the public relations secretary. She was inducted into the National Technical Honor Society this spring and is also a member of the EdRising Honors Society. During Eastland-Fairfield’s Senior Recognition ceremony, she was presented with the President’s Award for Educational Excellence. Outside the classroom, she has served as a summer camp counselor and swim instructor.

The new cohort of officers will convene at the 2024 Educators Rising National Conference in Washington, D.C. this summer from June 28-July 1. After undergoing extensive leadership training and identifying their strengths as student officers, new officers are evaluated and placed into their specific positions in a collaborative effort of staff and current student officer input. At the end of their term, these new officers will lead the efforts of the 2025 National Conference.
