Gahanna-Lincoln rising senior, Austin Wolfe, was tabbed a red ribbon winner for his second-place finish at the 2023 Educators Rising national conference.
Gahanna-Lincoln High School rising senior, Austin Wolfe, made his first trip the Educators Rising national conference memorable after placing second, nationally, in the Project Visualize Contest
Wolfe will enter his senior year in the Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools Teaching Professions satellite program with a red ribbon, denoting his national runner-up placement in his respective event. The Project Visualize Contest required entrants to participate in a service project with their Educators Rising local chapter then express its impact on them and the community. As part of the presentation, competitors were asked to share their enthusiasm and all that was learned by creating a visual of the experience as well as their future in education.
Through the creation of a display board and delivery of a presentation to a panel of judges, Wolfe left an impression that led to the second-place finish. His work was judged on several elements including guideline adherence, creativity, presentation quality, professionalism, length, and overall impact.
Three Teaching Professions students were also recognized at the conference for their participation as Educators Rising state officers and national voting delegates, including recent graduates Allison Slates, Amelia Alatsis, and rising senior Alexis Lieb. Lieb participated in the Rising Moment Competition while Alatsis entered into the Creative Lecture competition. Both Slates and Alatsis were also invited to serve as breakout session presenters during the conference.
Hannah Kamara and Kaylin Fisher, both Gahanna-Lincoln rising seniors, competed at the national conference, as well. Kamara participated in the Public Speaking event while Fisher competed in the Exploring Administrative Careers category.
