The HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) program is a full-time, 900-hour certificate course. This program combines classroom, laboratory and work-based learning experiences enabling students to become proficient in the installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial and domestic air conditioning systems. Included in the instruction are the theory and application of basic principles involved in the conditioning of air, cooling, heating, filtering, and controlling humidity; the operation characteristics of various units and parts; the use of technical reference manuals; the diagnosis of malfunctions; the overhaul, repair and adjustment of units in parts such as pumps, compressors, valves, springs, and connections; the repair of electric control systems; and the plumbing skills necessary to provide a completed system. Course work is based on procedures recommended by the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Institute (ARI).

All necessary technology is provided to students in each classroom and lab during normal class hours. Students who wish to access school email or Canvas (our learning management system) outside of normal class hours will need access to the internet and a personal device.
