Seventeen students from the Culinary Arts program at Eastland Career Center will represent Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools at the 2024 FCCLA State Competition.

Following regional competitions held in February, Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools will have 17 Culinary Arts students represented at the upcoming FCCLA State Leadership Conference.

Students qualified for state competition in 19 culinary and career development events. A pair of students qualified in two events. Senior Ryan Traylor (Groveport Madison) earned a silver placement in Interpersonal Communication, as well as a gold finish in the Garde Manger event. Junior Adam Fazekas (Reynoldsburg) took in a pair of silver finishes, one in the Garde Manger event and the second in the Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation category.

Ten students earned Gold designation, the top honor at the regional level, while 11 students earned Silver designation. A complete list of state qualifiers and top finishers can be found below.

In addition to a strong showing in the competition’s events, four juniors have declared that they will interview for a regional or state-level executive council position. We wish the best of luck to Adam Fazekas, Kit Blowers (Liberty Union), Journey Morris (Liberty Union), and Gracie Horton (Pickerington Central).

State culinary event competitions will take place on April 20, at Hocking College. Career Development events will be held during the FCCLA State Leadership Conference on April 25 and April 26th inside Kasich Hall at the Ohio Expo Center.
