DECA international qualifiers

Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools and the Marketing & Logistics satellite program are proud to announce that five students have earned their spot to compete at the DECA International Competition, which will take place in late April.

Students from the Marketing & Logistics satellite program, housed at Groveport Madison High School, competed at the DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) state competition on March 8-9, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency in Columbus. Seven competed in their respective events and five will advance to the DECA International Conference, which will be held in Anaheim, Calif., between April 27-30.

Groveport Madison seniors Eva Walton and Trinity Tinney were recognized as managing one of the top school stores in the state. Together, they will take their presentation to showcase at the DECA international competition.

Joining them is a trio of Groveport Madison students including seniors Richie Saelim, Kyger Westin, and Ryan Pettay. These students competed in the Virtual Business Management competition and finished inside the top 16 in the state, advancing them to the next level of competition.

There are more than 5,400 DECA members in Ohio, and this group will join nearly 500 national qualifiers from different schools around the state.

The Marketing & Logistics Management satellite program is one of eight satellite programs that Eastland-Fairfield offers to 11th and 12th-grade students. The program is also the only one that belongs to the national DECA career-technical student organization.
