Eastland and Fairfield Career Center Students Make Significant Food Donations to Help Families During the Holidays

NOVEMBER 18, 2022  |  EFCTS

Students of NTHS FCC chapter collected more than 1,700 food items

Students and staff at the Eastland and Fairfield career centers are displaying high levels of generosity as we enter the holiday season. Both campuses held a food drive to benefit local families and have recently donated more than 2,500 food items, combined.

At Eastland Career Center, students in the Business Professional of America (BPA) career-technical student organization ran its food drive during the first week of November. Over a five-day span, students rallied to collect 878 food items to be donated.

The following week, students in the Fairfield Career Center chapter of the National Technical Honors Society organized a competition between career tech labs granting the program with the most collected items with a donut and pizza party. Competition aside, the students at Fairfield Career Center responded and donated more than 1,700 items toward the food drive.

Both campuses donated all collected items to the Byron Saunders Foundation, a non-profit organization created with the mission of providing Thanksgiving meals to families in need in Central Ohio and surrounding counties.

“I am incredibly proud of our students who took the time to organize and participate in this very selfless effort,” said Superintendent/CEO Dr. Kimberly Pietsch Miller. “This is just another example of how thoughtful our students are and the quality of their character.”

Well done to all of our participating students and staff!
