The Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical School satellite programs that participate in SkillsUSA will have one of their own competing at the 2022 national conference. Following the conclusion of state competitions, New Albany High School junior Liam Otten will represent the Cyber Security program at this summer’s SkillsUSA national conference.
Liam Otten (Jr., New Albany) qualified for nationals by finishing first overall in the Internetworking competition that was held at the SkillsUSA Ohio conference during the first week of May. The state champion will now move on to the SkillsUSA national competition, which will be held in Atlanta, Ga. from June 20-24, 2022.
Two additional cybersecurity students joined Otten at the state competition, both students at New Albany High School. Juniors Teja Akella (IT Services) and William Vance (Related Technical Math) both competed but did not place.
Out of the Architecture & Construction Management program housed at Gahanna Lincoln High School, two students competed and placed inside the top five in their respective competitions. Senior Roberta Eloise Fisher finished second overall in the Job Interview category while junior Nadia Ndematebem took third place in the t-shirt design competition. Both are students at Gahanna Lincoln High School.
