District moving to Restart Plan B effective Sept. 14

RESTART INFORMATION PAGE

Based on current conditions and recommendations from our health departments, we are now making plans to adjust our learning model. We will be moving from our current Plan C (all online) to Plan B (face-to-face and online learning).

Juniors will be the first to return to campus for face-to-face instruction starting on Monday, September 14. Seniors will return for face-to-face instruction on Monday, September 21, 2020. According to our Restart Plan B, when juniors are on-campus, seniors are at home engaged in online learning. When seniors are on-campus, juniors will be online learning from home. The weekly junior/senior rotation schedule is below.

We are excited to have our students back to school. Please know that we remain committed to protecting the health of our students, staff, and families. It is of the utmost importance that you familiarize yourself with the enclosed Restart Protocols before the return to campus.

Remaining healthy will take all of us.  We must let you know that failure to comply with these protocols, without prior and reasonable justification, may result in disciplinary consequences or being asked to leave. If you observe protocols that are not being followed, notify a staff member right away.

Any in-person activity includes the risk of contracting COVID-19.  Adhering to our Restart Protocols will minimize a true “exposure” defined as being within 6 feet of a positive COVID-19 individual for a total of 15 minutes.  If an exposure should occur, you will receive a phone call from the school and/or the local health department with a letter containing specific information and quarantine dates.  Remember, being quarantined does not indicate that an individual has been infected.  It is a means to help prevent the spread of the disease.

HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS

As always, if a student is ill and unable to attend, a parent/guardian should call to report the absence and inform us if any symptoms are COVID-19 related.  In the event a student has been out of school because of a fever ONLY (no other symptoms, and have not had any contact with an individual that has tested positive for COVID-19), the student may return to school after he/she is fever-free for 24 hours without using any fever-reducing medication.

For students who have been out of school because of fever AND additional symptoms (in the absence of a physician’s specific permission to return to school), they must meet the following criteria before returning:

  • No fever (without using fever-reducing medication) for 24 hours, AND
  • Other symptoms are improving, AND
  • Has been 10-days since the symptoms first appeared—regardless if symptoms resolve sooner.

We are asking for your support and commitment by signing the Facial Covering Info/Acknowledgement form and Safety Pledge, both located below. Please return both forms to the lab instructor on the first day of return to campus. If at any time you have concerns, please contact us.
